Aggregate band powers per channel to identify dominant waves

#1

Hi everyone,

I am working on understanding the the dominant waves for a subject over a period of time. For this purpose I am using the relative band powers for the various waves and plotting them against the time. However, it seems that the analysis might require some kind of aggregation. Can you people help me with the following questions:

  1. Is it practical to take aggregate (mean or median) for each channel across some time period to better understand the dominant waves (absolute waves)?
  2. If I simply take a mean or median for the entire data for each channel and use this single figure to quantify the dominant wave. Is it an appropriate approach?
  3. Are there standard methods for doing this sort of analysis?

Thanks
