API ver 5.4.0 - MessageType.CALM_ALG vs MessageType.CALM_APP?

I was looking through the 5.4.0 API and noticed the new values MessageType.CALM_ALG and MessageType.CALM_APP. However there is nothing in the release notes about them, and the API just says:

IXNMessageTypeCalmApp
A message containing data from the calm application.

IXNMessageTypeCalmAlg
A message containing data from the calm algorithm.

Could someone provide more details about what these values represent? Also is CALM_APP available outside of the official Muse application?

Hi.

The MessageType enumeration details the type of messages that can appear in a .muse file. CALM_APP and CALM_ALG message types are internal message types that are only used in the official Muse application. Neither CALM_APP or CALM_ALG is available outside of the Muse application and you shouldn’t need or encounter them in your own application. They are included in the documentation so the enumeration values are consistent with the protobuf definition of a .muse file.
