Determining wave bands from raw eeg



1.) What does these raw signal represent? is it amplitude? In the documentation it only mentioned that these eeg signals are converted into microvolts.

2.) If these eeg signals are converted into microvolts, I believe that there is a method of decomposing these raw data into its corresponding brainwave bands.

  1. The raw signal is the amplitude of the voltage on your skin at the electrode site measured in units of microvolts. It is EEG.

  2. To decompose EEG into different frequency bands, our SDK uses a Fast Fourier Transform (FFT). The output of the FFT is used to produce measures of power (absolute, relative, session scores) in the common brainwave bands. These are described in more detail here:
