Dsp computed value OSC Paths not present in 3.4.0?

#1

Hello,

I was about to purchase a Muse for an R&D project when I saw that the ‘focus’ computed value was removed from the OSC Paths 3.4.0 documentation. Does anyone happen know if it still exists?

For reference, here is the reference in 3.0.2: https://sites.google.com/a/interaxon…cheme—v3-0-2

Here is a mention of it being moved in 3.2.0: https://sites.google.com/a/interaxon…sc-paths/3-2-0

And it is not included in the 3.4.0 docs: [URL=“https://sites.google.com/a/interaxon.ca/muse-developer-site/museio/osc-paths/3-4-0”]https://sites.google.com/a/interaxon...sc-paths/3-4-0

Thanks for your time

Hi there,

There are no streams of ‘focus’ or ‘relax’ messages available in the current version of the SDK. There were experimental ones in previous versions but they’ve since been removed so that they can be refined. We’re working on adding more data streams to the SDK that will be usable out-of-the-box, though, so hopefully we’ll have some new, cool things for everyone to play with soon!

It is, of course, possible to construct custom algorithms using the raw time domain and spectral data that the SDK provides, although it requires some knowledge of neuroscience. We’ll be providing more information on and examples of how to do this in the near future.

OK, thanks Tom. I’m just reading up on the neuroscience behind these abstractions so I’ll have to do a bit more research to build my confidence in computing them on my own before I pull the trigger.
