Muse feedback as entrainment, and training to closed-source patterns

#1

Hello! I have been experimenting with a few varieties of biofeedback and neurofeedback. Enjoying the Muse but somebody said something that got me wondering.

I heard Muse describes as entrainment, which I found an odd statement, butI think what they were saying is that like classic neurofeedback it is training a specific part of the brain to specific and not clearly specified patterns.

So my questions -

  1. Would you consider this to be “entrainment?”

  2. Are there pros/cons to training your brain to patterns that are a closed-source definition?

Thanks, I’m really curious about this!
