Is there any chance that muse-io will be able to stream to websocket aswell in near future?
The problem ist that OSC data cannot be directly accessed from the web browser. So I wrote a node.js application which translates the OSC data from muse-io to websocket. And then I retrieve the data in the browser using socket.io.
The fact of having to translate OSC to Websocket adds another element into the signal processing chain, so ads to the lag of the signal processing chain and also ads potential instability. Adding websocket support in muse-io would make it really much simpler to connect muse data to the web browser.
Current data flow:
muse -> muse-io -> (osc to websocket transformation) -> browser
Data Flow with websocket support in muse-io
Thanks so much for any answers.
